Twinsies is not for meesies

Preggo 1, originally uploaded by Xtina Lam.

But its for my sissies. Well just one.
I think I am allowed to post this headless preggers shot of her.

I did pictures two weekends ago. It was my first time to shoot someone pregnant and also to use a strobe light by myself.

I rented from lighttec.com. That’s my shout out. They are so nice over there and super friendly and the prices are really reasonable.

I will do shoots for anyone as long as they are willing to pay for all rental equipment costs and then whatever else price I arrange.

Anyway I think this is my favorite shot.

White Rock Station Night Shoot

White rock station, originally uploaded by Christina Lam Photography.

Went out to White Rock Station at two in the morning. I don’t suggest this unless you are with someone, someone that is male that is.

I haven’t went shooting in a while. I feel like my skills are rather stagnant and that I will never progress so long as I never have creative inclinations to go out and shoot. What is semi-inspiring is meeting people that glow with the same enthusiasm I did when I first discovered that I really liked photography. It reminds me of how I felt and it always helps when they ask for a few pointers because it allows you to revisit the same feelings you once had before.
I know everyone gets in a rut. I have creative ruts.

A few good pictures came out of that night, check out my flickr if you get a hankering to do so.

If you want pictures

Contact me if you are interested in pictures. I am currently working on pricing and packaging. I am mostly available on weekends only, I might be able to come to your location depending on the space. I have some equipment together. Lights compliments of Mark from MadInk. Use my contact form, or if you know me personally send me a message or give me a call.

I am excited. Looks like things are taking off for me. Thanks for all the support!

Exciting New Year! w/ lots of plugs

Sorry folks, have been super busy here. I celebrated New Years with some close friends of mine and we checked out The Cavern off of Lower Greenville, and the music was absolutely rocking. Cool out crew with residents Schwa and Big J downstairs and  Keith P and Killtronix was upstairs. They usually play Mondays at The Cavern.  Check it out!

Also, have been working with Mark Garcia from MadInkDesign and also with After5. We recently went out and did a shoot of JB from Richmind Records. It was on location at the studio in Dallas. I had a lot of fun, completely new experience. I have a few photos up on flickr, have about 500 to go through so its going to take some time. Considering how it was my first time to do an “actual shoot” with strobe lights and equipment, I think I did a pretty good job.  Mark has been very supportive allowing me to work with him on different projects he has going. Checkout the website for MadInk if you are interested in media design or graphics, banners, signs, car wraps etc. www.Madinkdallas.com. (thats my plug, where’s my money?)

Also went nightshooting in dallas when it was about 27 degrees outside, I managed to get a few decent shots, those I haven’t had a chance to go through either.

And thats a wrap!

Christmas Wish List ‘07

About $2000 worth of equipment that I am trying to save up for that I would like to purchase within the next 6 months. Depending on my financial situation I may have to just stick to window lighting. I definitely need anything that will help improve my shots. The macro is just a lens I would like to have as part of my collection but probably will not absolutely need. Who’d think a hobby would be this expensive.

Canon 580 EX II FlashTL-520 Studio Kit JTLThe Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro LensSigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro

For non photography presents however, I would like a vaccum cleaner.A nice set of squarish type plates, some drinking glasses. I do really want to get into card making and paper crafts, just seems like a lot of work to collect everything you may need.

Stampin’ up Starter kits. Mini or Standard

I am kinda interested in the Stampin’ Up sets. I see there are a lot being sold on Craigslist. Thats it!

My update - I know exciting!

Last night went and saw the Iron and Wine show. I was angry with myself for not bothering to bring my camera. I snuck in the little Canon SD400 Elph though which took pictures of crap. Then I saw 3 people with their mega cameras right below the stage taking pictures. My heart cried out to them. Oh well I’ll learn for next time.

I might be working on a start up internet dating site with my bro-in-law if we can get all the kinks working.  I expect all of you to fake testimonies and send me pictures of yourselves happy and holding hands. I am super excited about that. I am ready to do something else. I just feel so bottled up and constricted right now. This is my time to do something craaazy with all the risks involved.

I also want to start taking pictures of local bands and build a little portfolio book of band shots together to pass around to semi bigger bands to eventually be just a designated photographer at the shows. One can wish.  *Colby’s 10 mo was this month (I think) I went over there and took some pictures of him dressed up as santy claus. Pictures of the show and of bebe Colby will be up soon.

If anyone wants to live in Lakewoods Old Historic District (is that right?) I’d like to get a unit there at one of those awesome houses. Hardwood floors, spacious living quarters..from there I can purchase a shuffle board, pool table and darts. Old school darts..chalk and everything.  And again, one can wish.

*names have been changed to avoid internet baby nappers from kidnapping this bebe.

Everyone liked the other one I had posted a few weeks back, found the rest of the shots I took and kinda like this one

I never thought that I would be a pet owner, caring for something so small and dependent on me. I most definitely did NOT see myself being *that* owner that prances around their pup like a baby in a stroller with new clothes. Thats me alright, minus the stroller. Who would think puppy clothes were as expensive if not more than my own. But he looks soo good in blue!
